B1002
B1002-A/C SWITCH REQUEST INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information. Electrical Diagrams
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
If the Cluster detects voltage above 4.5 volts for 10 seconds on the (C105) HVAC MUX Control circuit.
1. VERIFY DTC B1002-A/C SWITCH REQUEST INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH IS ACTIVE
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. CHECK THE (C105) HVAC MUX CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Cluster C2 harness connector.
3. Disconnect the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. Measure the voltage of the (C105) HVAC MUX Control circuit.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the short to voltage on the (C105) HVAC MUX Control circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 3
3. CHECK THE (C105) HVAC MUX CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance of the (C105) HVAC MUX Control circuit between the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector and the Cluster C2 harness connector.
Does the Ohm meter read open circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (C105) HVAC MUX Control circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 4
4. CHECK THE (C955) HVAC MUX RETURN CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Measure the resistance of the (C955) HVAC MUX Return circuit between the A/C Heater Control C1 harness connector and the Cluster C2 harness connector.
Does the Ohm meter read open circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (C955) HVAC MUX Return circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Cluster.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
