B1032-EVAPORATOR FIN TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information. Electrical Diagrams

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
If the Evaporator Temperature Sensor input is out of range toward the high voltage threshold.

1. VERIFY B1032-EVAPORATOR FIN TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH IS ACTIVE
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, and turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. CHECK FOR DTC WITH THE EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR HARNESS CONNECTOR DISCONNECTED

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Evaporator Temperature Sensor harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
5. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, and turn the ignition on.
6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Replace the Evaporator Temperature Sensor.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

3. CHECK (C21) EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Disconnect the Instrument Cluster (CCN) C3 harness connector.
2. Measure the resistance of the (C21) Evaporator Temperature Sensor Signal circuit between the Instrument Cluster (CCN) C3 harness connector and the Evaporator Temperature Sensor harness connector.

Does the Ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Repair the (C21) Evaporator Temperature Sensor Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 5

4. CHECK (C21) EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO VOLTAGE

1. Using a volt meter check for voltage on the (C21) Evaporator Temperature Sensor Signal circuit.

Does the volt meter read any voltage?

Yes

- Repair the (C21) Evaporator Temperature Sensor Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 5

5. CHECK (C121) SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Measure the resistance of the (C121) Sensor Ground circuit between the Instrument Cluster (CCN) C3 harness connector and the Evaporator Temperature Sensor harness connector.

Does the Ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Replace the Instrument Cluster (CCN).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the (C121) Sensor Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
