B1084-LEFT HEATED SEAT SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT/PERFORMANCE

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

Theory of Operation

The Left Heated Seat switch input changes when the momentary switch is applied. An active DTC indicates the switch is stuck in the applied position. A stored DTC indicates the switch was stuck in the applied position for more than five seconds, but has since returned to a normal state.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
If the Left Heated Seat switch is stuck in the applied position for more than five seconds. This DTC has a maturing time of five seconds and a de-maturing time of zero seconds. If the status of the DTC changes from active to stored it will stay in memory for 100 ignition cycles.

NOTE: This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid. Do not perform this test if this DTC is stored.
INSPECT FOR OBJECT HOLDING SWITCH IN AN APPLIED POSITION
1. Inspect the lower switch bank for an object holding the switch in an applied position. If present, remove the object.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. With the scan tool, erase Cluster DTCs.
4. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, and then turn the ignition on.
5. Wait one minute, then with the scan tool, read Cluster DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Replace the Lower Switch Bank.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
