B1D33-DRIVER MIRROR HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW

- When Monitored:
When the Mirror Heater Driver Output is turned on.
- Set Condition:
If the Driver Door Module senses an excessive current draw on the (C110) Driver Mirror Heater Driver circuit within 10 ms of turning on the Mirror Heater Driver Output.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Verify that the Rear Window Defogger (EBL) mode switch is off (EBL status indicator not illuminated).
3. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
4. Press the Rear Window Defogger (EBL) mode switch on.
5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1D33-DRIVER MIRROR HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. TEST FOR A SHORTED OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR
1. Press the Rear Window Defogger (EBL) mode switch off.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Disconnect the Driver Outside Rearview Mirror connector.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
6. Press the Rear Window Defogger (EBL) mode switch on.
7. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1D33-DRIVER MIRROR HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Outside Rearview Mirror.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
3. CHECK THE (C110) DRIVER MIRROR HEATER DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Driver Door Module C1 connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (C110) Driver Mirror Heater Driver circuit in the Driver Door Module C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (C110) Driver Mirror Heater Driver circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 4
4. CHECK THE (C110) DRIVER MIRROR HEATER DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (Z911) GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Measure the resistance between the (C110) Driver Mirror Heater Driver circuit and the (Z911) Ground circuit in the Driver Door Module C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (C110) Driver Mirror Heater Driver circuit for a short to the (Z911) Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 5
5. CHECK THE (C110) DRIVER MIRROR HEATER DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (P69) DRIVER MIRROR SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Measure the resistance between the (C110) Driver Mirror Heater Driver circuit and the (P69) Driver Mirror Sensor Ground circuit in the Driver Outside Rearview Mirror connector.
Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (C110) Driver Mirror Heater Driver circuit for a short to the (P69) Driver Mirror Sensor Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 6
6. CHECK THE (C110) DRIVER MIRROR HEATER DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (C910) DRIVER MIRROR HEATER RETURN CIRCUIT
1. Measure the resistance between the (C110) Driver Mirror Heater Driver circuit and the (C910) Driver Mirror Heater Return circuit in the Driver Door Module C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (C110) Driver Mirror Heater Driver circuit for a short to the (C910) Driver Mirror Heater Return circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Driver Door Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
