U110F-LOST FUEL VOLUME MESSAGE

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

Theory of Operation
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) receives A/C Pressure, Ambient Air Temperature and Fuel Level CAN bus messages from the Front Control Module (FCM). The fuel level signal is a direct input to the Cluster. The fuel level signal is sent to the Front Control Module (FCM) over the CAN B bus circuit. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) receives the fuel level signal from the FCM over the CAN C bus circuit
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on, battery voltage between 10 and 16 Volts.

- Set Condition:
The PCM either doesn't receive a bus message or receives an implausible bus message from the Instrument Cluster (CCN) via the FCM. One trip fault.

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting Procedure.

1. ACTIVE DTC

NOTE: Diagnose and repair any communication DTCs in the Instrument Cluster (CCN) or Front Control Module (FCM) before continuing with this test.

1. Ignition on, engine not running.
2. With the scan tool View PCM DTCs.

Is the status Active for this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Intermittent Condition Test

2. U0141-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH FRONT CONTROL MODULE ALSO ACTIVE
1. With the scan tool View DTCs.

Is the U0141-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH FRONT CONTROL MODULE also set?

Yes

- Perform the U0141-Lost Communication with IPM (FCM/TIPM) diagnostic procedure. U0141

No

- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.
