Loose Front Door Molding
OVERVIEW:
Inspect the door molding for indications of a slight intermittent gap to the door and if necessary replace the molding.
MODELS:
2010-2011 KK Liberty
NOTE:
This bulletin applies sales code (MJG) Accent Bodyside Molding with Insert to vehicles built before August 16, 2010 (MDH0816XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may notice a slight intermittent gap at the right and/or left front door moldings.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer experiences this symptom/condition proceed to the inspection procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
INSPECTION PROCEDURE:
1. On the suspect door molding gently pry it away from the sheetmetal at the leading edge using your finger. Did the molding separate from the vehicle?
a. Yes >>> Proceed to the repair procedure
b. No >>> Return the vehicle to the customer or dealer inventory.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the front door molding using trim stick C-4755. Refer to the detailed removal procedures available in: DealerConnect > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 23-Body > Exterior > MOLDING, Body Side > Removal.
2. Remove all adhesive residue with 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner or Equivalent.
3. Install new front door molding. Refer to the detailed installation procedures available in: DealerConnect > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 23-Body > Exterior > MOLDING, Body Side > Installation.
4. Return the vehicle to the customer or dealer inventory.
