REAR
The rear wiper arm (1) is the rigid member located between the rear wiper motor output shaft that protrudes through the liftgate outer panel below the center of the liftgate flip-up glass opening and the rear wiper blade. The wiper arm is constructed of molded black plastic. A hinged pivot end is a die cast metal piece with a tapered hole that receives the wiper motor output shaft and is secured to the output shaft by the arm retaining nut. The hinge has an over-center action to provide ease of service of the wiper blade. A molded plastic wiper arm support (2) is integral to the lower surface of the wiper arm and extends downward from the arm.
A molded black plastic nut cap (3) with integral snap features fits over the wiper arm pivot end to conceal the nut and mounting provisions following wiper arm installation. The wiper arm hinge and tension spring are concealed on the underside of the wide end of the arm, while an integral receptacle feature concealed on the underside of the narrow end of the wiper arm accepts the pivot pin of the rear wiper blade unit with a tight snap fit.
The rear wiper arm cannot be adjusted or repaired. If damaged or ineffective, the entire wiper arm unit must be replaced.
