Remote Start Antenna - Installation
INSTALLATION
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the SRS. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment.
NOTE: Use the mechanics wire or string that was tied to the antenna connector, pull and guide the new antenna into place.
1. Carefully route the remote start antenna module coaxial cable through the instrument panel to the Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (SKREEM) on the right side of the steering column near the ignition lock cylinder while positioning the module to the base trim of the instrument panel center stack.
2. Reconnect the remote start antenna module coaxial cable connector to the connector receptacle of the SKREEM.
3. Position the remote start antenna module to the instrument panel. Be certain that the coaxial cable is not pinched between the module mounting flange and the instrument panel.
4. Install and tighten the two fasteners that secure the antenna module to the instrument panel.
5. Engage the two tabs (1) at the bottom of the lower center trim panel (3) into the receptacles in the base trim of the instrument panel center stack and roll the top of the panel upward.
6. Using hand pressure, press firmly and evenly on the trim panel over each of the two snap clips (2) until they snap into their receptacles in the instrument panel.
7. Reinstall the upper and lower shrouds onto the steering column. Steering Column - Installation.
8. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
