Cellular Phone: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTION
NAVIGATION
The GPS antenna collects information from orbiting satellites to provide the users location. The navigation radio uses this information in route planning to the desired location given by the operator.
The navigation information is displayed in map format, as turn-by-turn instruction or a combination of the two. The system also provides audio prompts for turns through the vehicle's audio system, overriding all other audio outputs (except hands free cellular system) to the front speakers that are active at the same time. Spoken prompts are recordings of a human voice.
The navigation portion of the radio is not repairable and if found to be defective the entire radio unit must be replaced. Radio - Removal for removal procedure of the radio.
