Soft Top Windnoise At Header

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting and if necessary remove the small bumper stops from the front header bow.

MODELS:

2010 JK Wrangler

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with soft tops (sales code VJX, VJO and VJK) built after September 24, 2009 (MDH0924XX) and before March 10, 2010 (MDH0310XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer will experience wind noise from the front header bow.

DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer experiences the symptom/condition, proceed to the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:





1. Fold back the soft top to access soft top header bumper stops by releasing the right and left soft top latches (Fig. 1).





2. Inspect the soft header bow for rubber stops, (Fig. 2). Are the rubber stops present on the header bow?

a. Yes >>> Proceed to Step # 3.

b. No >>> This bulletin does not apply, continue further diagnosis.





3. Remove the bumper stop on the right and left side (Fig. 3).

4. Fold the soft stop to the closed position and secure.

5. Return the vehicle to the customer.
