Priming the Fuel System

After fuel pressure has been released for repairs or inspection, the system must be primed to avoid too much cranking to restart the engine. Follow the steps below.





1. Connect the data link connector terminals FUEL PUMP and B+ with a jumper wire.
2. Turn the ignition switch on for no longer than 10 seconds to pressurize the system and check for fuel leaks. (The jumper wire gets hot if it is left in for longer than 10 seconds.)
3. Turn the ignition switch oft and take the jumper wire off the data link connector.
