SERVICE TIP:






The function of the Brake Pressure Differential Switch (photo 1) as previously installed on the Sportage Proportioning Valve (PV) has been eliminated from vehicles built on or after 11/16/99.






From 11/16/99 to the end of 2000 MY production the switch was still installed on the PV, but no longer connected. The switch's connector (C116) was taped back to the harness and a dummy connector was installed on the PV. (photo 2).






On 2001 MY Sportages, a new design PV is used (photo 3) which no longer has the switch or its mounting provisions. The C116 pigtail has also been deleted from the 2001 MY front harness #2.
