This bulletin provides information relating to a logic change to Sedona RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) receivers.

From 1/16/02 production the RKE receiver logic was changed to allow programming and use of two transmitters. Prior to this change, only one transmitter could be used.

For owner's of earlier vehicles who wish to use two RKE transmitters, the new RKE receiver is interchangeable with the previous receiver and can be installed at owner's expense.





Use the following procedures to install RKE receiver and to program RKE transmitters.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:





1. Open upper glove compartment and remove two screw covers.





2. Remove four screws from upper glove compartment and remove glove compartment.





3. Remove two screws securing RKE receiver, disconnect electrical connector and remove RKE receiver.

4. Connect electrical connector to new RKE receiver and secure with two screws.

5. Reinstall upper glove compartment.

PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE:

1. Open hood and locate data link connector near battery.





2. Use a jumper to connect pin 5 to pin 17.

3. Turn ignition switch to the on position.

4. Press the lock button on the first transmitter two times.

5. Press the lock button on the second transmitter two times.

6. Turn ignition switch to the off position and remove the key.

7. Remove jumper from the data link connector.

8. Check for lock and unlock operation of both transmitters.

AFFECTED PRODUCTION RANGE:

Sedona model with production dates prior to 1/1 6/02.
