Shift Cable or Inhibitor Switch Misadjustment Failure
SHIFT CABLE OR INHIBITOR SWITCH MISADJUSTMENT FAILURE1. Inspect operation of shift cable.
1) Inspect that shift lever can be shifted smoothly and accurately when shifting shift lever from "N" to other range.
2) Inspect that indicating lamp can be turned on correctly.
< NG > Adjust shift cable no looseness cable to correct position again.
2. Inspect adjustment of inhibitor switch.
1) Inspect that engine can be started with shift lever only "N" or "P", but not in other range.
2) Set shift lever to "N", remove the shift cable assy, set the SST and inspect that SST pointer align neutral basic line.
3) Inspect continuity of inhibitor switch.
< NG > Adjust SST pointer align neutral basic line again after removing inhibitor switch.
