SUBJECT:
RECALL CAMPAIGN: O5MY EVAPORATIVE CANISTER HOSE VENT ELBOW (LEV II EQUIPPED ONLY)

This bulletin provides information related to the evaporative canister hose vent elbow that may be causing a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to illuminate in some 2005MY Sedona LEV II vehicles with a production range of 4/04 to 7/04. To correct this problem, Kia is replacing the evaporative canister vent elbow, which will prevent DTC P2422 (Canister Close Valve Clogging) from occurring due to this condition. Please note that this campaign involves only 515 vehicles within the production range of 4/04 to 7/04 that were sold to Enterprise Rent-a-Car. All other 2005 Sedona LEV II equipped vehicles within this production range were repaired prior to shipment.

Verify if this campaign has been performed by visually inspecting the evaporative canister vent elbow (see photo 2).

* NOTICE
There is no charge to the customer for this repair. Under applicable law, you may not sell or otherwise deliver any affected 2005 Sedona until it has been repaired, pursuant to the procedures set forth in this bulletin.

If the original hose vent elbow has been replaced and the vehicle is one of the 515 vehicles sold to Enterprise Rent-A-Car, please apply a Campaign 040 Completion Label on the bulkhead above the master cylinder. No further action is required.
