Service Procedure
1. Pull the assist handle downward and carefully open the screw cap as shown in the photo. In most cases this can be easily accomplished with a finger nail or small screwdriver.
2. Loosen each screw (one-at-a-time) two full turns.
3. Using the screwdriver, push the screw and screw mounting inward as far as possible. If the screw mounting was not fully seated, you may hear a click as the mount fully seats.
Once you're certain that the screw mounting is fully seated, fully retighten the assist handle mounting screw, and then close the screw cover. Repeat this procedure on the remaining assist handle mounting screw.
Notice:
DO NOT over tighten!
Tightening Torque: 7.5 +/- 0.5 lb/in.
Check your repair to assure that the assist handle is securely attached.
4. Repeat this repair procedure on each remaining assist handle to assure customer satisfaction.
