Component Inspection

Check Outside Mirror Defogger
1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
3. Select 'ACTUATION TEST' mode on scantool and press [F1] to start




4. Dose outside mirror defogger work properly ?
YES
1) Go to "Check DDM" procedure.
NO
1) Substitute with a known-good outside mirror defogger and check for proper operation.If the problem is corrected, replace outside mirror defogger and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
Check DDM
1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
3. Substitute with a known-good DDM and Check if the DTC is erased
4. Is the DTC erased ?
YES
1) Substitute with a known-good DDM and check for proper operation.
If the problem is corrected, replace DDM and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
1) Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
