Campaign SA058 - Sliding Door Latch Replacement

GROUP Body

NUMBER 071

MODEL 2006-10MY Sedona (VQ)

DATE November 2010

Subject:
SERVICE ACTION: IMPROVED SLIDING DOOR LATCH (SA058)

This Service Action provides information relating to 2006-2010 Sedona vehicles produced from 6/15/2005 to 10/19/2009. Some Sedona vehicles with improperly maintained latches for their sliding doors can accumulate sufficient road dirt to cause the latches to stick by impeding rotation of the latch around the pin. To improve customer satisfaction Kia is conducting this Service Action to make available a modified door latch kit containing both left and right latches, with additional openings to allow foreign material to more readily exit the latch assembly.

NOTICE
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed during the warranty period. Any dealer requesting to perform this repair outside the warranty period will require DPSM approval.

Repair status for a VIN is provided on WebDCS (Service> Warranty Coverage> Warranty Coverage Inquiry> Campaign Information). Not completed Recall / Service Action reports are available on WebDCS (Consumer Affairs> Not Completed Recall> Recall VIN> Select Report), which includes a list of affected vehicles.

This issue number is SA058.

The new latches are shown below
