B1954
COMPONENT LOCATION
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Intergrated Memory System (hereinafter referred to IMS) is a kind of convenience that memorize the fittest position of seat for driver, and restores it with just one memory switch. Equipment for Power seat adjusting beside Power seat ECU are input switch, four motors and sensors. According to input signal four motors adjusts horizontal position, inclination of the back of a seat, height of seat and position of brake pedal. Sensors for each motor detects position and delivers it to power seat ECU.
DTC DESCRIPTION
The ECM sets DTC B1954 if there's any fault in power seat slide sensor signal.
DTC DETECTING CONDITION
MONITOR DTC STATUS
1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector(DLC).
2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".
3. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTCs)"mode and monitor "DTC Status" parameter.
4. Is the DTC B1954 present?
YES
Go to "Inspection & Repair" procedure.
NO
Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECM's connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
TERMINAL AND CONNECTOR INSPECTION
1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
