This Pitstop replaces KT2007081401, HA1000 - Air conditioner malfunctioning, posted 8/14/2007. The revised Pitstop addresses a concern with manual; HVAC control on some 2006 - 2008 Sedona (VQ) that may exhibit intermittent poor HVAC performance or no HVAC operation.
KMA has found in typical cases, the HVAC module's processor has (in computer terms) "locked-up" and needs to be rebooted. The easiest and most direct way to "reboot" the module by disconnecting and reconnecting the negative battery cable after approximately 30 seconds. Once rebooted the module's operation will be restored, after which the concern rarely returns.
Note stored presets for audio system before disconnecting battery cable.
Do NOT replace the HVAC controller for the concern described above.
KMA will no longer accept any warranty claim for manual HVAC control assembly part number 97250 4D001VA without DPSM approval. If a different concern is present, or after manual rebooting the concern still exists, contact your DPSM to request approval for replacement of the HVAC module. Any HVAC module that has been replaced will be returned to KMA for further inspection and investigation.
