2007 and later Sorento (BL) Cylinder Head Installation of Steel Ball Oil Passage Plugs
- Description
If replacing the cylinder heads on 3.8L or 3.3L Sorento you may have to inspect the lubrication ports for installation of the steel balls. Current replacement cylinder heads may not be equipped with the required sealing balls. Identify and locate the 9 lubricant passages and verify a steel ball is installed in each.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage any cylinder head sealing surfaces! Support the cylinder head with suitable material; wood block or similar device.
If any passages are not plugged, insert a steel ball and drive down until fully seated per illustration / photos as shown.
There are a total of 9 steel balls installed, 4 on the R/H cylinder head and 5 on the L/H cylinder head.
