General Description
The Power Steering Pressure Sensor signal is used by the ECM to help control idle. When steering assist is needed the pressure rises in the power steering pressure lines. As the pressure increases, the voltage signal from the sensor will increase. The ECM will then increase the idle to compensate for the load. Along with the sensor signal wire, the ECM supplies both a 5V reference and a ground to the sensor.
DTC Description
P0552 is set when the voltage below 0.234V - minimum voltage of P/S PS (power steering pressure sensor) signal - is detected for more than 0.3 sec. This code is due to open in power circuit or short to ground in signal circuit of P/S PS (power steering pressure sensor).
