W/Harness Inspection

Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?
YES
1) Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
NO
1) Go to "Power supply voltage inspection" procedure.
Power supply voltage inspection
1. IG "ON" & ENG "OFF"
2. SPEED SENSOR connector : Disconnect.
3. Measure voltage between terminal 1 & 2 of SPEED SENSOR COIL harness connector and chassis ground.
A. Specification : Approx. 5V

CAUTION:
The above value is only for reference. The actual value may differ from it according to various engine condition.

4. Is voltage display near the specified value?
YES
1) Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or TCCU's connector or was repaired and TCCU memory was not cleared.Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
1) Go to "Power supply harness battery short Inspection" procedure.
Power supply harness battery short Inspection
1. IG "OFF"
2. SPEED SENSOR connector : Disconnect.
3. Measure voltage between terminal 1 & 2 of SPEED SENSOR COIL harness connector and chassis ground.
A. Specification : 0V below.

CAUTION:
The above value is only for reference. The actual value may differ from it according to various engine condition.

4. Is voltage display near the specified value?
YES
1) Go to "Power supply harness open circuit inspection" procedure.
NO
1) Check for short to battery in power supply harness.
2) Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
Power supply harness open circuit inspection
1. Ignition OFF.
2. SPEED SENSOR, TCCU connector : Disconnect.
3. Measure resistance between terminal 01 & 02 of SPEED SENSOR harness connector and 10 of TCCU harness connector .
A. Specification : 1 Ohm below

CAUTION:
The above value is only for reference. The actual value may differ from it according to various engine condition.
