SORENTO (BL) TRANSFER CASE MOTOR ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT
This bulletin provides information relating to some 4-wheel drive 2003-2009MY Sorento (BL) vehicles with automatic transmissions that may experience erratic shifting, shift shock, and/or an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp with possible C1627, C1611, C1612, P1795, DTC(s). Abnormal transfer case motor signals may be transferred to the TCM due to poor contact points inside the transfer case motor. To resolve this condition, replace the transfer case motor assembly with a new improved assembly as described in this bulletin.
For vehicles with symptom or condition mentioned above, replace the defective transfer case motor assembly with a new improved assembly by following the service procedure outlined below.
