General Description

The Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS) signal comes to the ECM via the ESC control module. The ECM uses the signal to control the transaxle shift scheduling and torque converter clutch scheduling. The WSS signal is also used to detect rough road conditions. The ECM can suspend misfire detection during rough road conditions.

DTC Description

If the vehicle speed signal is over the specified maximum value, ECM sets P0503.
