W/Harness Inspection

C1643 CAN Time-out Yaw Rate & Lateral G Sensor

Inspection/Repair - W/Harness Inspection

Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminal condition.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?

Power Supply Circuit Inspection

Power Supply Check
1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
2. Disconnect the Yaw rate & lateral G sensor connector.
3. Measure voltage between power supply terminal of the yaw rate & lateral G sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. B+

4. Is the measured value within specifications?

Ground Circuit inspection

Open Check
1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect the yaw rate & lateral G sensor harness connector.
3. Measure resistance between ground terminal of the yaw rate & lateral G sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ohms

4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?

CAN Circuit Inspection

Open Check
1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect the HECU harness connector and yaw rate & lateral G sensor harness connector.
3. Measure resistance between CAN HIGH (LOW) terminal of the HECU harness connector and CAN HIGH (LOW) terminal of the Yaw rate & lateral G sensor harness connector.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ohms

4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?
