Owner Letter

March, 1992

Dear Range Rover Owner:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Rover Group, Ltd. has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may exist in some 1990 and 1991 Range Rover vehicles within a specific production range. A modification by your Range Rover Dealer is required to correct the defect.

The brake light switch could eventually fail causing the brake lights to be inoperative. If this were to occur, the ABS warning light would be illuminated. However, following vehicles would not be warned that the vehicle is braking, increasing the risk of an accident.

In order to remedy such a defect, your Range Rover Dealer will replace the switch with an improved part and check the system for correct operation. This action is being taken voluntarily and Range Rover Dealers are fully aware of what needs to be done to your vehicle. Of course, this work will be done at no charge to you.

Replacement parts will be provided by the manufacturer and will be on hand at North American Dealers by March 2, 1992. The time required to perform the necessary work will be up to one hour. Please contact your Range Rover Dealer for an appointment.

If you experience any difficulty in obtaining the necessary service at no cost from your Dealer in a reasonable time, please call our Customer Service Office at 1-800-637-6837.

If after contacting your Dealer and our Customer Service Office you are still not satisfied that we have done our best to remedy this condition without charge within a reasonable time (no more than 60 days), you may wish to write to the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 400 Seventh Street, 5W, Washington, DC, 20590, or call the toll free Auto Safety Hotline at 1-800-424-9393 (Washington DC residents may call 426-0123).

We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause you.
