Repair Procedure

ISSUE 1:
SILL BUTTON HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

1. Measure the height of the sill button in the unlocked position from the door panel sill to the top of the sill button. If measurement is less than 32 mm (1-1/4 in.) continue adjustment process.

2. Remove the door panel to access sill button as outlined in WSM, Section 76.





3. Turn the sill button counter-clockwise to adjust the sill button height to 33 mm +/- 1 mm (1-5/16 in. +/- 1/32 in.) (Figure 1).

NOTE:
For each complete counter-clockwise turn of the sill button, the height of the sill button will be increased by slightly more than 1 mm (1/32 in.).

4. After adjusting the sill button, install the door panel and verify that the sill button height is within the specification.

ISSUE 2:
INTERIOR LINK ROD ANTI-RATTLE CLIP ADJUSTMENT AND LUBRICATION

1. Remove the door panel, as outlined in WSM, Section 76, to access interior mechanisms.





2. Carefully peel back the water curtain to access the interior release rod anti-rattle bracket (Figure 2).





3. Carefully pry the anti-rattle bracket away from the body opening up the bracket so that the outside wall of the bracket is parallel to the body as shown in Figure 3.

CAUTION:
Ensure that the bracket does not interfere with the window regulator mechanism.

4. Apply rubber grease around link rod and on the foam pad in the bottom portion of the anti-rattle bracket.

5. Check for noise and proper operation of interior release handle.

6. Install door panel and verify operation of interior release handle.

ISSUE 3:
REPOSITION FRONT DOOR CDL ACTUATOR FURTHER AWAY FROM DOOR LATCH

1. As outlined in WSM, Section 76, remove the door panel to access interior mechanisms.

2. Before loosening actuator-mounting screws, mark current location of actuator-mounting screws on the support plate.





3. Loosen actuator mounting screws and move actuator 1-2 mm (no more than 3 mm or 1/8 in.) away from door latch assembly (See Figure 4).

4. Tighten mounting screws and verify proper locking and unlocking operation with new CDL actuator position with alarm remote.

5. Install door panel and trim.
