Testbook Cable and Adaptor Guide
TESTBOOK CABLE AND ADAPTOR GUIDEThe following information will identify the cables, transducer and adaptors that are used with TestBook to allow communication and testing with various vehicle systems.
Identification of Cables
Each cable is marked with a color band. On the cable guide drawings the color band is identified by the same letter code used for wiring diagrams.
U = Blue
B = Black
G = Green
W = White
S = Grey
Y = Yellow
When two part numbers are shown against a cable or connector it denotes a supersession with the lower number replacing the number above it.
The "ABC" Adaptor (DTCOO27A)
Allows communications with all vehicle systems EXCEPT Discovery Security, and Discovery Single Point Sensing (SPS) SRS systems. This adaptor is obsolete due to reliability problems and will no longer be serviced.
The Blue Cable (DTCOO6IA)
Used in place of the switch brick when position "A" is called for by TestBook. (GEMS, ABS, BeCM, Transmission, Transfer Box, Range Rover 4.0 & 4.6 Security.)
The Green Cable (DTCOO62 A or B)
Currently only used for 1996 Discovery Security diagnostics and is referred to as "DTCOO62 adaptor" by the TestBook diagnostics that require it.
The Black Cable (DTCOO63A)
Used in place of the switch brick when position "C" is called for by TestBook. (Air Suspension).
The Grey Cable (DTCOO64A)
Used for 1996 Discovery Single Point Sensing (SPS) SRS system diagnostics, which is fitted to Discovery beginning with VINs 198222 and 528977.
Adaptor (DTCOO57A)
Required when using the DTCOO64A cable on all models equipped with Dual Point Sensing SRS (1993 - on Range Rover 4.0 & 4.6, all Range Rover Classics and all Discovery prior to the above VINs.)
