At present the workshop manual states that the brake light switch is factory set and requires no adjustment in service. However should the brake light switch need replacing or the brake lights on the vehicles stay on, then the brake light switch may need to be adjusted.

ACTION REQUIRED

If any service work is carried out on the brake system that requires the brake switch to be removed, the switch should be reset using the procedure detailed below.

PROCEDURE





Refer to Section 70 of the WSM - Refit brake light switch.

1. Pull the black plunger of the brake light switch completely forward.

2. Depress brake pedal, fit brake light switch, and ensure the retaining clips are fully located.

3. Hold the switch firmly in place. Pull the brake pedal back fully to reset brake light switch.

4. Connect multi-plug.

5. Turn ignition on and check that the brake lights are working correctly ensuring that the brake lights go off when the brake pedal is released.
