Brakes - Squealing Noise

18/12/95

H421

SUBJECT:
Brake Squeal

MODEL:
1996 Range Rover 4.0/4.6

AFFECTED VEHICLES:
TA318243 to TA324567

DETAIL

To reduce the incidence of brake squeal on Range Rover 4.0/4.6 models, a new brake pad has been introduced into the front Caliper assembly from VIN TA324568. A number of early 1996 MY vehicles will not have benefited from this new part introduction.

All Range Rover 4.0/4.6 models identified within the VIN range shown above must have these new pads installed either at Pre-delivery Inspection prior to customer receipt or at the earliest opportunity.

Note:
Due to limited initial supply of parts, this campaign is only applicable to 1996 MY Range Rovers within the VIN range above. The repair will be available at a later date for 1995 MY vehicles (as soon as parts supply allows) - this will be advised by a later bulletin.

ACTION REQUIRED

Install pads prior to delivery, or at the customer's convenience during a service visit.
