Improved bulb holders for the front turn lamps have been developed and are fitted from the start of the 1997 model year (VIN VA346794). On customer complaint of bulb failure replace both bulb holders with the improved design.
The diagnostic steps and repair procedures detailed in this bulletin were developed as an element of the Land Rover Way OPERATION PRIDE. This TIB provides a library location for PRIDE information within the Land Rover North America technical literature system.
ACTION REQUIRED
Replace bulb holders when bulb failure results from poor electrical contacts.

PROCEDURE
Perform the diagnostic procedures and repairs outlined for the repair of Bulb Holder Replacement.
PARK/TURN ASSEMBLY
1. Release the battery cover retaining screws and remove the battery cover.
2. Push the plastic retaining clip to the side and remove the park/turn assembly (figure 1 upper).
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb holder (figure 1 lower).
4. Turn the bulb holder counterclockwise and remove the bulb holder from the assembly (figure 2).
5. Push in on the bulb and twist counterclockwise to remove the bulb from the bulb holder (figure 2).
6. Discard old bulb holder and replace with new bulb holder (XBP10090).
INSTALLATION
1. Insert the bulb into the new bulb holder.
2. Insert the new bulb holder into the park/turn assembly and rotate clockwise to secure.
3. Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Install the park/turn assembly.
5. Replace the battery cover and secure with retaining screws.
