Create New Air Vent In LH Trim Panel

1. Refer to the illustration of the LH trim panel modification in Figure 4.





2. Measure 121 mm (4.75 in) from RH (leading) edge of existing air vent and 145 mm (5.7 in.) from the front attaching face.

CAUTION:
When performing the following drilling procedures it is important that the technician take care not to allow the drill to penetrate too deeply in order to avoid damaging the upper trim cover.

3. Drill through panel with a 6.5 mm (0.25 in) drill bit.

4. Using the 6.5 mm (0.25 in) drilled hole as a pilot, cut out the trim panel with a 140-150 mm (5.5-6 in) diameter hole saw.

5. Using a knife or a file, trim the edges of the newly cut air vent and remove any excess material from the vehicle interior.
