Cylinder Head Program

To enable you to handle exhaust valve stick repairs more time efficiently, LRNA will supply complete cylinder heads to seed an in-dealership valve replacement program. This program is intended to allow you to complete a valve stick repair quickly and return the vehicle to the customer in the shortest possible time.

Complete cylinder heads, part number ERR4553K, are currently available to all dealers in the U.S. The maximum number of cylinder heads that may be ordered by each dealership has been calculated by LRNA based on your historical incidence of a valve stick related repair and is included above in this bulletin. You will be given only one opportunity to order these heads. All orders must be placed by calling the Parts Hotline at 301-731-9066. In order to control inventory, these parts will not be available through normal parts ordering methods.

The cylinder heads will not be requested for return; they are to remain at your dealership/Land Rover Centre and become your floater stock, allowing you to continue to complete repairs in a timely manner. However, should you choose to sell or otherwise dispose of these cylinder heads, you will be debited for the current dealer net price plus 30% handling.

In order to cover the cost of having float cylinder heads ready for installation on the next vehicle to be repaired, you may submit claims for both the cylinder heads and valve replacement on as many vehicles as sets of heads supplied under this program. For example, if you receive 2 sets of cylinder heads you may claim for both cylinder head replacement and valve replacement on a maximum of 2 vehicles.

The procedures and details supplied in Discovery & Range Rover sections 1-07 of Operation Pride Phase II should be used to help you to always ensure that you have cylinder heads with the latest valves at your dealership/Land Rover Centre.
