ABS & Transfer Box
(Applicable to 96MY Range Rover transfer box faults only)The circuit integrity to the ABS and transfer box ECM's will be monitored by the GEMS ECM at power up (ignition in position II) for a change in voltage, if this change occurs in the correct time, then GEMS will not flag a fault. If a fault is present then the GEMS unit will repeatedly flag the faults at power up. The wiring, connectors and ECM's need to be checked to verify they work correctly.
Typical problems experienced to date are:
VIN cut-off TA327537
^ Cycling of the ignition key before the GEMS unit has fully powered down. This is done as follows: switching off ignition, then in about 5.5 to 7.0 secs, switching it back on again will induce transfer box/ABS link faults. Please fill out a full report and contact HelpLine if you encounter these faults.
