Valve Cover Gasket and Valve Cover Bolt Repair: Overview

1. Disconnect battery negative terminal.

2. Disconnect crankcase breather hose from cover.

WARNING:
Fuel pressure of up to 2.5 bar will be present in the system, even if the engine has not been run for some time. The spilling of fuel is unavoidable during this operation. Ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent fire and explosion.

3. Depressurize the fuel system as follows:

^ Position absorbent cloth around the fuel feed connection.

^ Carefully loosen fuel feed connection until fuel pressure has been relieved.

^ Remove fuel feed pipe from fuel rail.

^ Remove fuel pressure regulator return hose from clip.

4. Remove heater hose from clip.
