Radiator Bleed Hose - Deformation
01/07/9426/01/94/US
SUBJECT:
Radiator Bleed Hose Deformation
MODEL:
Range Rover V8
Discovery V8
AFFECTED VEHICLES:
All V8 derivatives between LH 650660 to LH 650889 and LJ 091608 to LJ 092487
DETAIL
A preformed nylon bleed hose was introduced onto the V8 derivative which replaced the existing rubber hose. It has been found that under normal engine operating conditions the hose can deform in the area of the preformed bends. To overcome this condition the previous part and routing was re-introduced. In instances where a bleed hose has deformed fit the previous part taking note of the illustrations overleaf to determine revised routing and securing arrangement.
ACTION REQUIRED
If deformation of the bleed hose is noted at PDI or during normal routine
servicing, replace the nylon hose with the previous part.
PARTS INFORMATION
Replace ESR 3221 nylon bleed hose with ERR 330, Intake Jacket Hose
568680 Tie wrap (2 each)
PROCEDURE
Release the hose clips at the radiator and plenum chamber.
Remove the hose from the plenum chamber first and replace with the new hose ensuring that the hose removed is kept above the level of the radiator to prevent loss of coolant.
Refer to the illustration overleaf for the muting of the new hose and using tie wraps secure the hose to the existing hoses shown.
Note:
Do not pull the tie wrap too tight.
Remove the nylon hose from the radiator and quickly replace with the new
hose to prevent loss of coolant. Tighten the hose dips to 2.5 Nm using a torque screw driver.
Run the engine to ensure that the hose dips are secure and no leaks are evident.
WARRANTY
Normal warranty policy and procedures apply.
