The outer rear door waist finisher can lift out of the retaining clip at the rearward end of the seal. This problem has been Corrected at the assembly line from VIN TA349610 onwards, and should not occur on any vehicles after this build.
The diagnostic steps and repair procedures detailed in this bulletin were developed as an element of the Land Rover Way Operation PRIDE. This TIB provides a library location for PRIDE information within the Land Rover North America technical literature system.
ACTION REQUIRED
If this symptom is observed on a vehicle prior to VIN TA349610, follow the procedure below on both rear doors.

PROCEDURE
NOTE:
"Super Glue" should NOT be used for this application as this has been found in testing to fail after a relatively short period.
REMOVAL
1. Carefully pry the waist finisher away from the rearward retaining dip to access the retaining clip (illustration).
2. Inspect the rear door waist finisher retaining clip if damaged, a new retaining clip should be installed before applying any adhesive.

Repair rear door waist seal
REPLACEMENT
1. Replace retaining clip (ALR6946) if necessary.
2. Lift off rear waist finisher to access retaining clip.
3. Prime the clip and finisher with the plastic primer in the service kit as shown in figures 1 and 2. Allow to dry for 20 minutes.
4. Apply a bead of adhesive (from the service kit) on the clip and waist finisher in the primed areas shown the figures 1 and 2.
CAUTION:
make sure that no adhesive comes in contact with any of the surrounding painted surfaces. If it does, remove adhesive flash with mineral spirits.
5. Refit the waist finisher to the retaining clip.
6. Secure finisher in position for at least 1.5 hours to allow the adhesive to cure.
