Intermittent Turn Signal Cancellation
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
RANGE ROVER (LP) SA300190 to TA342372
SITUATION:
INTERMITTENT TURN SIGNAL CANCELLATION
The turn signals may cancel intermittently on Range Rovers within the above VIN. This has been eliminated through the redesign of the cancellation trip ring (Figure 1).
RESOLUTION:
NEW MODIFIED SWITCH TRIP RING
The modified switch trip ring available as a separate part has adjusted cancellation peg angles that allow consistent indicator cancellation. Follow the procedure outlined below to replace the ring.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
INSTALLATION OF TURN SIGNAL SWITCH TRIP RING
WARNING:
Before removing air bag, read and follow all warnings and cautions relating to air bag module removal found in the Workshop Manual, Section 75.
NOTE:
The four air bag attachment bolts can be accessed without the removal of the nacelle by turning the steering wheel (Figure 2).
1. Refer to Workshop Manual Section 75 and remove airbag.
2. Disconnect wiring from rotary coupler to airbag and steering wheel remote switches.
3. Ensure that steering column is in the straight-ahead position.
4. Mark location of steering wheel to steering column with a sharp edged scribe.
5. Remove steering wheel bolt.
6. Remove steering wheel.
7. Carefully pry old trip ring from back of steering wheel.
8. Install new switch trip ring (AMR6358).
9. Install steering wheel taking care to ensure scribe marks from step 4 above are aligned.
10. Tighten steering wheel bolt to 33 Nm (24 lbf.ft).
11. Refer to WSM Section 75 and install airbag.
12. Tighten airbag-retaining bolts to 9 Nm (84 lbf.in.).
13. Check steering wheel alignment.
