Automatic Transmission Control Module
Automatic Transmission Control Module Description
The Automatic Transmission (A/T) Control Module performs a number of self-test integrity diagnostics on its internal hardware and software to check for faults. An under-voltage error is detected if the engine speed is greater than 1600 RPM and the ignition supply is less than 10.5 volts. Corrupted data is identified if the calculated checksums do not match the values stored in EEPRQM.
The ignition supply is required by the control module for normal operation. This supply is used for the microprocessor within the control module as well as the high current requirements of the pressure regulator and shift solenoid valves.
For the diagnostic table, please refer to the individual codes (i.e. P1606 or P1607). P1606
If the above table does not include details of the following enabling conditions: - IAT, ECT, vehicle speed range, and time after engine start-up then the state of these parameters has no influence upon the execution of the monitor.
