Differential Bevel Gear Preload (front And Rear Separately):
Run in gears 5 in. lb (.55Nm) (lib pull with spring balance on brake drum).
New gears 20in. lb (2.25Nm) (3.8 lb pull with spring balance, new gears will have a notchy feel).
Adjust by selective shims between bevel gears and diff. unit.







High/low Range Gear End Float:
0.002-0.008 in.

Differential Beating Preload:
5-15 in. Lb (.55-1.70Nm) (3-10 lb pull with spring balance on high/low hub). Adjusted by selective shims between from beating track and diff housing.







Input Gear Bearing Preload:
5-20 in. Lb (.55-2.25Nm) (5-20 lb. pull with spring balance and tool LST 105). Adjusted by selective shims between rear bearing track 'and bearing support plate.







Intermediate Shaft Bearing Preload:
4-10 in. Lb (.5-1.10NM) (4-10 lb. Pull with spring balance) increase in torque over input shaft preload alone. T and Q: Adjust by collapsing spacer FRC 7437. SE: Use shims listed below.
