Air Pipe Connection Collet & O-rings
AIR PIPE CONNECTION COLLET AND '0' RINGSRemove
WARNING: Air suspension is pressurized up to 10 bar (150 psi). Dirt or grease must not enter the system. Wear hand, ear and eye safety standard protection when servicing system.
1. Clean area with stiff brush and soapy water.
2. Depressurize system, refer to Electronic Level Control/Service and Repair/Depressurize System Service and Repair
3. Disconnect air pipe, refer to Air Line/Service and Repair Service and Repair
4. Remove collet.
5. Carefully pry out two '0' rings, using a smooth plastic hook, e.g.: a crochet hook.
CAUTION: Avoid scratching inside wall of housing, creating possible leak path.
Refit
6. Lightly grease new '0' rings.
7. Fit '0' rings into recess. Use a crochet hook to avoid damage to '0' rings and housing.
8. Locate collet legs into housing, push fully home.
9. Inspect end of air pipe for damage and scores rectify by trimming.
NOTE: Air pipe may be trimmed if sufficient straight pipe remains. Ensure pipe end is cut square, without distortion or frays to obtain air tight seal. Use service tool LRT-60-002. Lightly chamfer pipe using a pencil sharpener after cutting. DO NOT CUT PIPES MORE THAN TWICE.
10. Connect air pipe, refer to Air Line/Service and Repair Service and Repair
11. Pressurize system.
12. Leak test connection, refer to Testing and Inspection/Procedures/Leak Test Procedures Testing and Inspection
