Condensation "Spray" from Freelander Center Vents

The evaporative drain tube can become blocked by the vehicle carpet, incorrect alignment or foreign material. If the customer complains of a vapor spray from the center vents, investigate the following areas:

^ Determine if the carpet is forcing the drain tube upward, trapping it between evaporator casing and the bulkhead.

^ Determine if the carpet is causing the tube to be twisted.

CAUTION:
Care in re-locating the tube is required. It is easy to twist it again! Do not remove the "duckbill" end piece of the pipe! Removal of the duckbill end (JUB100280) will result in an aggravation of the problem.

If drain tube is not twisted or kinked and the problem persists it could be due to a blockage inside the evaporator casing.

^ Remove and split the casing.

^ Check that Styrofoam or molding flash is not obscuring the drain hole.

If the spray problem persists after performing all of these checks and removing any blockage, contact the Technical HelpLine with a detailed description of the conditions under which problem occurs.
