SITUATION:
CHANGES TO HEATER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURES AND LABOR TIME
Land Rover engineering has studied the service procedures for removing and installing the heater assembly on Freelander models. Significant process changes have been made to refine and improve the operation, which may now be carried out more efficiently and in less time. The change adds a step for clamping the heater hoses so a cooling system drain and refill is no longer required.
NOTE:
The relevant Workshop Manual sections affected by these revised procedures will be updated at the next available opportunity.
RESOLUTION:
REMOVE AND INSTALL HEATER ASSEMBLY
Should it become necessary to remove a heater assembly on a Freelander, refer to the Service Procedure detailed in this Bulletin to remove and install a heater assembly.
PARTS INFORMATION:
No parts required.
WARRANTY CLAIMS:
NOTE:
Superseded labor times for SRO 80.20.01 - "Replace heater housing" are as follows:

^ 2004 - 2005 MY the old labor time of 3.70 is superseded by 2.80 hours.
