Damaged Steering Wheel Switches

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

Freelander (LN) All

SITUATION:

LOOSE OR DAMAGED STEERING WHEEL SWITCHES

The Customer may complain that the Audio or Cruise control switches mounted on the steering wheel have become loose. Failure of the rivet securing the circuit board to the switch body is the likely cause of this problem.

RESOLUTION:

NEW SWITCHES AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT

When the complaint is confirmed, installation of a new design switch with more robust attachment connectors will resolve the situation.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

INSTALL NEW SPECIFICATION STEERING WHEEL SWITCHES





WARNING:
All Cautions and Warnings in the WSM must be observed to avoid injury or damage to the vehicle when disconnecting the SRS systems components.

1. If the damaged switch is the remote audio control switch, refer to the RAVE Workshop Manual section 86.50.13 and replace the audio switch.

2. If the damaged switch is the cruise control switch, refer to the RAVE Workshop Manual section 19.75.33 and replace the cruise switch.
