Rear Seat Fastener Torque Check

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

* Freelander (LN) 2A360115 - 2A363359*

SITUATION:

UNCHECKED REAR SEAT FASTENERS

Some vehicles may have been shipped to retailers without a check of rear seat fasteners being performed.

RESOLUTION:

TORQUE REAR SEAT FASTENERS

To ensure proper torque has been applied to rear seat fasteners perform the following procedure on affected vehicles before customer delivery. Check DCS for individual VINs within the range.

PARTS INFORMATION:

DCP4303L Retaining bolt NOT required. Provided for information only.
LRN0002LABEL Campaign Label Qty 1 (Note order quantity 1 = 100 label package)

WARRANTY CLAIMS:

HU01 Time 0.30 hrs.
Tighten rear seat fasteners to specified torque

Normal warranty policy and procedures apply. Material allowance is included in labor operation.

PROCEDURE:

CAUTION:
To avoid the possibility of damage to the front seat backs, both front seats must be moved forward of the B-pillars!





1. Move both front seats forward to provide clearance.

2. Open left and right rear side doors.

3. Tighten all four front seat hinge fasteners to 25 Nm (18 lb.ft.) using a T40 Torx socket.

4. If engaged, release rear seat belts from buckles.

5. Open the tail door and release rear seat backrest handles and fold both seat backs fully forward.

6. Tighten all four rear seat hinge fasteners to 25 Nm (18 lb.ft.).

7. Position rear seats to normal location.

8. When repair has been completed, prepare the campaign label (LRN0002LABEL) and install on vehicle radiator support.
