Transport And Emergency Towing Precautions
Transporting On A Flat bed
The preferred method of towing/transport for all Land Rover Vehicles is by a flat bed or trailer.
Transmission : Automatic - Park; Manual - Gear engaged
Transfer Gearbox: High or Low Range
Handbrake: Engaged
Air Suspension:
When equipped with air suspension, the suspension must be lowered to the bump stops, securely lashed down, and the air suspension disabled as follows:
1987-1995 Range Rover Classic (LH)
- The disable switch is located under the right hand front seat. The switch has no markings. In the DISABLE position, the BOTTOM of the rocker switch is pushed IN.
1995-2002 Range Rover (LP) and 2003 Onward Range Rover (LM)
- Set the Electronic Air Suspension (EAS) to Access height before lashing the vehicle down.
- For transport over long distances, when possible use T4 to set the EAS for transportation.
1999-Onward Discovery (LT)
- Set the Electronic Air Suspension (EAS) to Standard height before lashing the vehicle down. Do not transport while in Off-Road height mode.
