Updated Sunroof Panel Motor Replacement Procedure
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

CONDITION SUMMARY:
NEW PROCEDURE FOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF MOTOR
Situation:
This Technical Bulletin has been issued for information only. There has been a change in the workshop procedure to remove and install the sunroof motor assembly. The current workshop procedure removed the roof opening glass panel. The new method leaves the panel in place.
Action:
Refer to the new procedure detailed in the Repair Procedure section of this bulletin should it become necessary to replace the sunroof motor assembly.

NOTE:
Old Labor Time for 76.84.07 was 0.50 hours.
DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
REMOVE INSTALLED SUNROOF MOTOR
1. If the vehicle is 2002 or 2003MY perform the following:
^ Remove the lens from the front interior lamp. (1 in Figure 1)
^ Remove the two Torx screws securing the front interior lamp to the body. (2 in Figure 1)
^ Release the front interior lamp from headliner. (3 in Figure 1)
^ Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the lamp.
2. If the vehicles is 2004 or 2005MY perform the following:
^ Working from the lamp forward edge, release the front interior lamp from the headliner.
^ Disconnect electrical connector.
^ Remove the lamp.
3. Remove headliner-to-sunroof trim.
4. Carefully lower the front of the headliner to access the motor.
5. Remove the three Torx screws securing the motor. (1 in Figure 2).
6. Disconnect the three electrical connectors from the motor (2 in Figure 2).
7. Release the motor from the sunroof assembly.
8. Lower and remove the motor through the headliner opening.
INSTALL THE REPLACEMENT MOTOR
1. Connect the three electrical connectors to the motor assembly.
2. Position the motor to the sunroof assembly.
3. Install and tighten Torx screws to 6 Nm (4.4 lbf.-ft).
4. Carefully reposition headliner.
5. Install sunroof finisher.
6. If the vehicle is 2002 or 2003MY perform the following:
^ Position the front interior lamp and connect the electrical connector.
^ Install Torx bolts securing the interior lamp and tighten to 6 Nm (4.4 lbf.-ft).
^ Install the lens to the front interior lamp.
7. If the vehicles is 2004 or 2005MY perform the following:
^ Position the front interior lamp and connect the electrical connector.
^ Install and secure the front interior lamp to the headliner.
