Diagnostic Control Unit (DCU) Fault Codes

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Freelander (LN) ALL

SITUATION:

TROUBLESHOOTING WITH T4 REVEALS SPECIFIC FAULT CODE "9004AWL"

On investigation using the T4 diagnostic system, the SRS system Diagnostic Control Unit may be found to have the following stored fault code:

^ "9004AWL" (possibly accompanied by code "9001" - low battery voltage)

The above fault code is a result of a software error that cannot be cleared using T4.

RESOLUTION:

REPLACE DCU

Should fault code "9004AWL" be present in the control unit, refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin and replace the DCU.

YWJ000131........DCU and mounting bolt set Qty 1

DRGTL34.........T4 disc "Freelander 34" or later

NOTE:
The new unit comes complete with new retaining bolts which must be used when renewing the module.

1. Refer to GTR Workshop Manual Section 76.74.06 and replace the control module.
