Freelander Power Steering Hose Appearance

SITUATION

A newly designed power steering return hose has been introduced into production starting with VIN 3A242288. The new hose is designed to have an oval or flattened profile that is intended to resolve a "rattle" sound coming from the power steering rack.

It is possible that at first glance the hose will appear to have collapsed.

RESOLUTION





There is no need to replace a hose with an oval or "flattened" appearance on vehicles built after VIN 3A242288.

The "oval" appearance is the intended shape of the hose. It is NOT indicative of "collapse" or of a problem with the hose.
